Cette 25ème et dernière lithographie du second recueil de 25 lithographies d’après François Boucher publié en 1881, représente une jeune bergère et son fils. William Thornley a produit, à l’instar du graveur Wallon liégeois, Gilles Demarteau (1722-1776), cette scène pastorale. Celle-ci a été réalisée initialement par Jean-Baptiste Huet (1703-1770), un peintre animalier réputé, mais aussi un graveur.

This 25th and final lithography from the second collection of 25 lithographs after François Boucher, published in 1881, depicts a young shepherdess and her son. William Thornley produced this pastoral scene, following in the footsteps of the Liège-born Walloon engraver Gilles Demarteau (1722-1776). The original work was created by Jean-Baptiste Huet (1703-1770), an animal painter and engraver.
