L’original du portrait, une huile sur toile de 54 x 46cm, est conservé à la Tate Gallery à Londres. Lucien Pissarro est le fils aîné de Camille Pissarro, (1830-1903) et de Julie Vellay, (1838-1926). Entouré, après 1871, notamment à Pontoise, de Cézanne (1839-1906), Manet (1832-1883) et Monet (1840-1923), tous des amis de son père, il se lance à son tour dans une carrière artistique en tant que peintre paysagiste. En 1886, il participe à la VIIIe Exposition impressionniste en compagnie de son père. En 1890 il part et s’installe au Royaume-Uni (Londres) dont il devient citoyen en 1916.
Un portrait de Lucien, estimé entre 3000 et 4000€ (lithographie en bleu de 25 x 21 cm sur papier Chine appliqué sur vélin de 34 x 28,5 cm), et signée au crayon par les deux artistes a été vendu à Paris (Drouot) le 9 novembre 2021.

Lucien Pissarro is the eldest son of Camille Pissarro, (1830-1903) and Julie Vellay, (1838-1926). Surrounded, after 1871, notably in Pontoise, by Cézanne (1839-1906), Manet (1832-1883) and Monet (1840-1923), all friends of his father, he in turn launched into an artistic career as a landscape painter. In 1886, he participated in the 8th Impressionist Exhibition with his father. In 1890 he left and settled in the United Kingdom (London), where he became a citizen in 1916.
A portrait of Lucien, estimated at between €3,000 and €4,000 (25 x 21 cm blue lithograph on China paper applied to vellum 34 x 28.5 cm), and signed in pencil by the two artists was sold in Paris (Drouot) on November 9, 2021.
