Toutes les aquarelles présentées proviennent du carnet d’aquarelles réalisées par William Thornley en Provence entre 1885 et 1890. Selon les notes prises dans son carnet de dessins, débuta un cycle de voyages qui le conduisit en 1880 du Var à la Riviéra française puis en Ligurie (Gênes, Savone) et à San Remo. Il est également allé à Malte en 1880.Mais il eut par la suite l’occasion de revenir, par la suite, dans le Midi de la France, notamment en Provence, ce que confirme, semble t-il, l’existence de ce carnet d’aquarelles réalisées après 1880.

All the watercolors presented come from the notebook of watercolors produced by William Thornley in Provence between 1885 and 1890. According to the notes taken in his sketchbook, William Thornley began a cycle of travels which took him in 1880 from the Var to the French Riviéra and then in Liguria (Genoa, Savona) and San Remo. He also went to Malta in 1880. But he subsequently had the opportunity to return, subsequently, to the South of France, particularly to Provence, which is confirmed, it seems, by the existence of this notebook of watercolors made after 1880.
