Cette lithographie de William Thornley a été réalisée d’après une peinture à l’huile de Camille Pissarro en 1882 (65x54cm). L’huile sur toile (Paysanne bêchant) a appartenu à Julie Pissarro puis à sa fille Jeanne Pissarro Bonin avant d’être vendue en 1923 au Galeriste Durand-Ruel puis à partir de 1924 à différents acquéreurs d’origine allemande, hollandaise suisse, monégasque et américaine. La dernière vente connue (Christie’s) remonte au 2 mai 2006. Le tableau (Etude de Paysanne en plein air, bêchant) s’est vendu à 1 864 000 $.

This lithograph by William Thornley was made after an oil painting by Camille Pissarro in 1882 (65x54cm). The oil on canvas (Peasant Woman Digging) belonged to Julie Pissarro then to her daughter Jeanne Pissarro Bonin before being sold in 1923 to the Galeriste Durand-Ruel then from 1924 to different buyers of German, Dutch, Swiss, Monegasque and American origin. The last known sale (Christie’s) dates back to May 2, 2006. The painting (Study of a Peasant Woman in the Open Air, Digging) sold for $1,864,000.
